I want to move emails from Windows XP Outlook 6 to Mac OSX 6.8 Mail.
Do I need to buy two copies of Emailchemy – One windows and One Mac?
I will need to use on two different machines – is this a problem or is my Key good on both?

Yes, Wim. Emailchemy can convert all PST files: ANSI, Unicode, even the PSTs from the old Mac Outlook 2001.

Will Emailchemy convert old Outlook pst-files with the ANSI-format?
I will help a friend, whos pc laptop crashed. We saved the mail-files. But they are in a pst-ANSI-format. So I cannot export any file. I can only import those orphan files.

Will do Emailchemy the job?

You should download v11 now. As for your IMAP server, what kind of access do you have to your IMAP server? Are you an admin or do you just have an account on it? What kind of IMAP server is it?

I’ve just learned about and downloaded v 10.1 of Emailchemy. Should I wait and download 11.0 when it is available?

I work for a university that has its own IMAP server, which I prefer to use. How can I move converted files to my university’s IMAP server?

Yes, that is correct. The “overwrite sender” feature is a workaround for those whose email address is changing as part of the move to gmail or Google Apps email.

So as far Google Apps is concerned, and you’re moving mail from your old account “simpa@myaccount.com” to a google Apps account with the very same name (!) simpa@myaccount.com , that option would be unnecessary, right?

You need the original email files and to process them using the full, registered version of Emailchemy to see the subjects in the headers. The data produced by the demo version is largely throw-away. Check with your IT support team, they may still have your PC. They usually don’t destroy or repurpose them right away.
