Weird Kid Software LLC (WKS) specializes in Java software development for all platforms. WKS was founded in 1999 with the goal of developing software that helps put people back in control of their computers and the information stored within.
Weird Kid Software's core values are Efficiency, Precision, Evolution, and Passion. We believe in doing things right the first time or not doing them at all. We believe in using the scientifically validated tool for the job, and not merely the "right" tool. We believe in enabling puzzles and problems with the ability to develop and refine their own solutions, rather than attacking every obstacle with brute force. We believe that the relentless pursuit of understanding -- not knowledge -- is divine.
We take building software very seriously, but we have fun at the same time.
The People
Weird Kid Software consists of a tightly-knit band of dedicated freelance computer industry professionals. The typical Weird Kid Software employee:

The Name
First off, we don't make oddly interesting software for children. Second, -- and we know it's on all your minds -- who or what is the Weird Kid? Is it a person, a nickname, an accusation, an insult, a nerdism? All of the above?
It's an identifier, a tribute to all those perceived as or internally feeling different from the status quo. Weird is not necessarily ugly or nerdy or even unusually smart. Weird is simply a state of being assigned to those in our culture who don't follow the standard patterns and procedures associated with daily life. Weird implies a sort of meta-consciousness and a hyper-awareness and the unavoidable discussions thereof. However, Weird is not an elitism. Weird aches to spread understanding through the analysis and agitation of all that is not weird. Weird has intellectual facets as well as entertainment value. Weird does not require an audience and is rather indifferent of one. Weird is for Weirdness' sake. Weird is making a goofy face at a stranger across the room and having that person make a goofy face back with no fanfare or further discussion. Weird is good. Be Weird. It's okay.
